A pumpkin farm, visiting a mall and rain (26 September 2024)
Thursday was predicted to be wet. However, while there had been some showers before we arose in the morning it was fine when we set out for a walk around our Mary and William’s village. It was very Swiss in that there were the emerald green fields, forested hills and beyond were mountains, the Swiss chalet type houses and of course the sound of cowbells.
We were taken to a farm near Raperswill which amongst other things grew large quantities of pumpkins. Artists had been employed to create sculptures made out of pumpkins such as Star Trek Enterprise, Superman, etc. It was a farm theme show. The farm also had a restaurant and grew blueberries and apples. No doubt other products as well. On a nice and drier day, it would have been a great place to take children but even for adults it was rather interesting.

On the way back home we called into a mall so that Bev could buy herself a new watch as her previous one had stopped working. An hour later after being presented with a huge range of watches from which to make a choice she had a new one on her wrist and of course was very happy. Watches must be the only thing that are around the same price as you would pay outside of Switzerland.
By dinner time the rain had set in but it was still nice sitting outside in a pergola drinking a glass or two of wine while we watched William cooking us a paella which we all later enjoyed.
