Planning

Seven months ago I made a booking to go to Europe for ten weeks.  That had been the result of around  two weeks of intensive discussion.  I wanted to go longer but Bev thought a bit shorter would be better.  In the event we came to a compromise.

It is five years since we ventured so far afield.  We had planned to go to France and Scotland in 2020 but a certain virus made its appearance a month or so before we were due to board a plane.  Flights were grounded and we were cocooned in our homes for several weeks.

Now no-one takes any notice of the various virus's that seem to be infecting people on a regular basis.  However, I have topped up my COVID vaccine and hopefully that will provide me with some protection from the new variants that are infecting people in Europe and beyond.

We have organised our trip around a cycle adventure in the Luberon.  Prior to that adventurewe are doing a visit to a number northern European cities before venturing into France where we will spend about five weeks.  Thereafter we head to Ireland and Wales before travelling to London and flying to Vancouver and Victoria for a few days.  Summer will be beckoning when we get back to New Zealand and Australia.
